Brady started his first season of t-ball in April. It is a non-competitive team for 3 & 4 year olds. All teams are coached by a parent and all the other parents help out as well during practices and games. They don't count runs or outs and each team goes through their batting order then they switch. It is super cute! Brady is loving it! The day of his first practice I'm not sure who was more excited, Brady or his daddy! I called the coach and asked what Brady needed and he said he needed a glove and some cleats. So I thought I would run over to Target and get just that. Well this particular day Tim got off work a little early and I asked if he wanted to stop at Target with us. He suggested we go over to Dick's sporting goods because they would have a better selection. I thought, sure ok, you're probably right. Had I known what this trip was going to hold I wouldn't have invited Tim along! :) So we go in and Tim dissects the gloves for a good 15 minutes. Then he says he needs pants. Ok, fine. So I get a pair that are elastic waist banded for easy on and off. That would have been great, but then Tim says he has to have a belt-so much for easy on and off! Then we go over towards the sliding shorts-these apparently are so that you don't scrape up your leg when you slide into a base-I say, I'm not sure he's gonna do much sliding honey, he's only 3. Then he insists on this specific pair that has none other than a protective cup! I say really?! But he insists! We stand there and debate about this for a good 10 minutes. Finally I give in and say fine, I've gotta get home to get supper ready, so whatever will get us out of here. So then we go over to the cleats and uneventfully get a lovely pair of under armor cleats for a mere $24.99! Good gracious! Ok, good lets go. But no, Tim says oh yeah, he needs some baseballs and goes over "quickly" to get some. He finally emerges again with not only baseballs, but baseball socks and he just had to have a 3/4 sleeve baseball shirt. So finally $130 later Brady is ready for his first day of t-ball practice. But if you looked at him, you would have thought he was on his way to the major league try outs! But the funniest part was this cup. So he's out on the field practicing fielding the ball, but while he waits his turn he is adjusting his cup every chance he got! Lucky for him I got a great picture which of course I included in this blog down below. It was hilarious! Thank goodness after that practice Tim decided that maybe the cup was a bit over kill. Hmmm.....ya think?! Gotta love Dads and sons and their sports!
Gimme 5! Good play!
haha--so funny. All the gear and the cup for the 3 year old. Classic!
